Customer Tile Style Profile: Callum’s Kitchen Floor Refresh

Our Customer Tile Style Profile feature takes an in-depth look at some of the fantastic renovation and redesign projects our customers complete using products from the Tile Mountain range. This month’s installment sees us catching up with Callum Edwards of Burton upon Trent who used our Super White Polished Porcelain floor tiles to create a modern, high-end kitchen floorspace…

What were the circumstances behind the project?

We had moved into a new build and didn’t like the flooring options offered as there were no tiled options. We therefore had these tiles in the kitchen, hall, and downstairs bathroom and another tile from Tile Mountain in the two upstairs bathrooms.

Was your choice of décor & colour scheme influenced by the tiles you chose, or did you pick the tiles to fit in with a style you’d chosen for the rest of the room?

We went for a grey colour scheme but the glossy tiles were used as they complimented the french doors at the back that make the room look big and bright.

What made you decide that the tiles you chose were the right tiles for your project?

Large tiles across a large area reflect the light back into the room giving it an open feel. This is what we were looking to achieve and the Super White Polished Porcelain tiles did just that!

How long did the project take to complete and did you do the tiling yourself or hire a professional tiler?

We used a professional tiler and the project for the rooms in question one took around a week to complete. I am fairly practical but we got a tradesman to complete the job as we wanted it to be perfect for our new home.

What part of the project was most difficult and why?

No difficulty really, we moved during lockdown and we expected choosing the right tiles to be the most difficult aspect but the samples arrived next day and nominated day delivery made it all a doddle.

Do you have any further decorating projects lined up?

Nothing more in terms of decorating now other than a few bits of painting. But I would definitely use Tile Mountain again for any future tiling projects.
