Customer Tile Style Profile: Carly’s Home Ideas

Our Customer Tile Style Profile feature takes an in-depth look at some of the fantastic renovation and redesign projects our customers complete using products from the Tile Mountain range. This month’s instalment sees us catching up with interiors influencer Carly Jones of @carlyshomeideas who used our Axis White Outdoor Slab Tiles tiles to create a light and luxurious exterior living area at her property…

What were the circumstances behind the project?

I was looking to refresh and modernise my garden through using the Axis Slab White Outdoor Slab Tiles. I wanted to create a flow by bringing the outside in. The tiles were great at emphasising a subtle fluidity within my garden and home, which I love.

Was your choice of decor & colour scheme influenced by the tiles you chose, or did you pick the tiles to fit in with a style you’d chosen for the rest of the room?

I ultimately decided on large white slab tiles with a thin grout line as it fit perfectly with my overall style which I have throughout my house and now garden. My house is largely white and the tiles really worked well aside this minimalist vibe. The fluidity that the tiles have created really helps to open up the area.

What made you decide that the tiles you chose were the right tiles for your project?

I was drawn to these particular tiles as they’re matte, non-slip tiles which make them perfect for any garden setting and the typical wet English weather! The large tiles complimented my tiles inside my home really well.

How long did the project take to complete and did you do the tiling yourself or hire a professional tiler?

The whole project took around a month but this was due to most of the work being done by our landscapers on the weekends when they could. Although, using a professional tiler is more pricey than doing it yourself, spreading the work out over a long period of time is a really affordable option!

What part of the project was most difficult and why?

Honestly, the project as a whole was faultless and really smooth from start to finish. Tile Mountain were super helpful and the landscaping company were professional and did the tiles justice.

Do you have any further decorating projects lined up?

I’ve really loved the tiles in the garden that I have opted for some 800m Extreme White Polished Porcelain tiles in my new lounge extension which is currently an ongoing project to create an open plan living space.

What advice would you give to people considering undertaking a similar project?

I would recommend doing your research so you find the best tiles for the area you’re renovating. Also, make sure to research the tiler you use if you decide to take that route! Don’t underestimate the impact of tiles as its the foundation of a space and sets the tone for the rest of the room!

What would you say to people who are thinking about buying tiles from Tile Mountain?

I can’t recommend Tile Mountain enough. Not only because I trust their products so much but because their customer service is amazing and they always answer the many questions I have! The prices are really reasonable and affordable when you compare them to most other suppliers. It’s surprising that the affordable price doesn’t compromise the high quality of the products whatsoever!
