Customer Tile Style Profile: Clare’s Kitchen Refresh

Our new Customer Tile Style Profile feature takes a closer look at some of the amazing renovation and redesign projects our customers undertake using products from the Tile Mountain range. The second installation of the new monthly series features Clare Minting of Andover, who injected a splash of zingy colour into her kitchen makeover using our Lime Green Metro Tiles. We caught up with her to chat about the project…

What were the circumstances behind the project?

We bought our home a year ago and painted the existing kitchen a light lime green to brighten it up. We started planning replacing the new kitchen in October and chose the units and worktops.

Was your choice of decor & colour scheme influenced by the tiles you chose, or did you pick the tiles to fit in with a style you’d chosen for the rest of the room?

We knew we wanted to keep the wall colour and I thought a stronger lime green brick tile would complement the scheme (and it has!).

What made you decide that the tiles you chose were the right tiles for your project?

We found the metro tiles on your website, ordered a sample, and knew it was going to work. We particularly liked the bevelled edge and the longer 300mm tile.

How long did the project take to complete and did you do the tiling yourself or hire a professional tiler?

We started replacing the kitchen on 9 January and it took three and a half weeks to complete. The tiles were fitted by a professional tiler.

What part of the project was most difficult and why?

The hardest part of the project was taking the old floor tiles up to replace the floor with wood.

Do you have any further decorating projects lined up?

The next project will be updating the bathrooms in our home.

What advice would you give to people considering undertaking a similar project?

Our advice to others would be; do your research; get samples of everything to make sure it all coordinates; check prices to maximise your budget. It’s also important to plan your schedule carefully so all the tradesmen can work seamlessly. Oh, and keep your sense of humour!

What would you say to people who are thinking about buying tiles from Tile Mountain?

I would have no hesitation in recommending Tile Mountain to everyone. Great products, excellent prices and first class service!
