Customer Tile Style Profile: Diane’s Conservatory Conversion

Our Customer Tile Style Profile feature takes a closer look at some of the amazing renovation and redesign projects our customers undertake using products from the Tile Mountain range. This month’s instalment features Diane Giles of Bexhill-on-Sea who sold her beach hut and bought her dream conservatory, kitting it out with our Skyros Delft Blue Wall & Floor Tiles. We caught up with her to get the lowdown on the project.

What were the circumstances behind the project?

I had just sold my beach hut and decided in its place I wanted to buy an extra large conservatory. This is it!

Was your choice of decor & colour scheme influenced by the tiles you chose, or did you pick the tiles to fit in with a style you’d chosen for the rest of the room?

My choice of decor and colour scheme was definitely influenced by the tiles, yes. I picked the tiles and

What made you decide that the tiles you chose were the right tiles for your project?

I looked around for floor tiles that would give my new conservatory a light and airy feel, not to mention a distinct wow factor, which is exactly what I achieved thanks to being recommended Skyros Delft Blue by Tile Mountain staff.

How long did the project take to complete and did you do the tiling yourself or hire a professional tiler?

I decided the tiles were the right tiles for the project after ordering a full sample and receiving the next day. The tiles were just what I wanted and at a price that was within my budget too!

What part of the project was most difficult and why?

I used a professional tiler of 30 years plus experience The entire job took 3 days to complete – and what a great job he did!

Do you have any further decorating projects lined up?

My tiler got on with the work he didn’t experience a problem

What advice would you give to people considering undertaking a similar project?

My number one piece of advice to anyone thinking about undertaking a tiling project would be to firstly go to Tile Mountain for a quality tile, professional service, great price and very reliable service! Oh, and be sure to use a rapid drying adhesive, otherwise, it slows up the progress of the job.

What would you say to people who are thinking about buying tiles from Tile Mountain?

As a result of Tile Mountain providing me with such lovely tiles, there was no stopping me. I went back to Tile Mountain to provide me with another 40 square meters of floor tiles. Hall, kitchen, cloaks cupboard, porch and utility room, all redone by the same tiler and all look fantastic. The tiles are so nice and fresh and it makes such a change to drab, boring tiles you constantly see in other retailer’s ranges.
