Customer Tile Style Profile: Pauline’s Bathroom Refresh

Our Customer Tile Style Profile feature takes an in-depth look at some of the fantastic renovation and redesign projects our customers complete using products from the Tile Mountain range. In this month’s edition we had a quick chat with Pauline Moody of Bromley who used our Place wall tiles and Muse Dark Grey Matt floor tiles to turn her dated bathroom into a sleek shower room.

What were the circumstances behind the project?

This was a very dull, uninspiring bathroom which was installed 16 years ago when the property was built. We wanted to turn it into a shower room and so with more wall on show the choice of tiles was critical.

Was your choice of decor & colour scheme influenced by the tiles you chose, or did you pick the tiles to fit in with a style you’d chosen for the rest of the room?

The colour scheme of the tiles influenced my choice of fittings in the rest of the room, so it was important to get the right tiles.

What made you decide that the tiles you chose were the right tiles for your project?

After searching the net and visiting tile showrooms I sent off for samples from Tile Mountain. I knew immediately that the marble-effect Place wall tiles would do the job of brightening the room and giving it the wow factor!

How long did the project take to complete and did you do the tiling yourself or hire a professional tiler?

The project took two weeks to complete and we used a professional tiler. The builders were delighted with the result and said that the choice of tiles had made the difference. They also commented on the fact that this was the best bathroom they had done in the last year.

What part of the project was most difficult and why?

Choosing the tiles was the most difficult because they make the difference to the end result.

Do you have any further decorating projects lined up?

We hope to do our en-suite next and we’ll definitely use Tile Mountain again.

What advice would you give to people considering undertaking a similar project?

I would say that research is the key. Know what works best for the room. Although rectified tiles might be considered best these wall tiles worked well (they’re not rectified and therefore slightly less expensive) but choosing rectified tiles for the floor was a good decision. Small details like this affect the overall cost.

What would you say to people who are thinking about buying tiles from Tile Mountain?

Tile Mountain is an excellent online company. Quality, value for money, customer service and delivery all get top marks from me!
