This month sees us catching up with Rachel Snowball of Doncaster to find out how she used our Inverno Grey Marble Rectified Wall & Floor tiles to give her ageing bathroom a much-needed refresh…
What were the circumstances behind the project?
After recently buying our first home, we wanted to redecorate the whole house. We decided to tackle the bathroom first as this was the biggest job that needed doing by far!
Was your choice of decor & colour scheme influenced by the tiles you chose, or did you pick the tiles to fit in with a style you’d chosen for the rest of the room?
I knew prior to looking for tiles that I wanted a grey theme within my new bathroom. I ordered A LOT of sample tiles from not only Tile Mountain, but other tile retailers too. The sample tile from Tile Mountain was the only one that matched my grey vision.
What made you decide that the tiles you chose were the right tiles for your project?
Of all the samples we received from several different companies, only Inverno Grey really ticked all the boxes and was not too dark.
How long did the project take to complete and did you do the tiling yourself or hire a professional tiler?
Due to work only being able to be carried out at weekends, the project took just under 4 months (roughly). My partner and father in law did the whole bathroom (they aren’t professionals by any standard!).
What part of the project was most difficult and why?
The most difficult part was the tiling. This wasn’t down to the fantastic tiles though but down to our walls not being straight and every tile having to be cut! Thankfully the tiles I had ordered were quite large so this saved some time (in comparison to if I had ordered smaller ones!).
Do you have any further decorating projects lined up?
We plan to decorate the living room next, which involves taking out a fireplace and plastering.
What advice would you give to people considering undertaking a similar project?
Order sample tiles! And lots of them! They really helped me choose the perfect tile.
What would you say to people who are thinking about buying tiles from Tile Mountain?
We had absolutely no problems with Tile Mountain. Very quick & efficient, and no broken tiles either. I’ll definitely be recommending Tile Mountain to everyone I know!
