Customer Tile Style Profile: Russ’s Bathroom Revamp

Our Customer Tile Style Profile feature takes an in-depth look at some of the fantastic renovation and redesign projects our customers complete using products from the Tile Mountain range. This month’s instalment sees us catching up with Russ Ward of Stoke on Trent who used our Etna Lava Porcelain Wall and Floor Tiles to create a modern, on-trend space to replace a dated bathroom…

What were the circumstances behind the project?

Our bathroom was looking a bit outdated and tired so we decided to fully overhaul it and create a modern bathroom that complimented the rest of the house.

Was your choice of décor & colour scheme influenced by the tiles you chose, or did you pick the tiles to fit in with a style you’d chosen for the rest of the room?

The tiles were the first thing we chose and once we’d settled on the Etna tiles, the rest of the bathroom remodel was styled to complement them.

What made you decide that the tiles you chose were the right tiles for your project?

We had a loose idea of the sort of colour scheme we wanted to go for but when we saw the tiles in Tile Mountain’s Stoke on Trent showroom they stood out to us and made our mind up for us!

How long did the project take to complete and did you do the tiling yourself or hire a professional tiler?

We did all of the work ourselves. The project took a couple of months in total as we had to fit in carrying out the work around our jobs. It took a bit longer than we originally expected but we’re really happy with the finished result!

What part of the project was most difficult and why?

The shower area was the most challenging but the preparation needed from converting from a normal bathroom to a wetroom was the most difficult and time consuming.

Do you have any further decorating projects lined up?

We have nothing planned at the moment but should we need tiles for our next project then we know where to go!

What advice would you give to people considering undertaking a similar project?

We would recommend hiring professionals to fit a wetroom if you have no prior experience in this area. Also, try and view the tiles you’re considering in person before making a decision, or if this isn’t possible, order samples to see how they’ll look in the room you want to install them in.

What would you say to people who are thinking about buying tiles from Tile Mountain?

We highly recommend Tile Mountain – the staff are great very helpful and knowledgeable through the whole process and the tiles are top quality. The bathroom furniture we ordered from Bathroom Mountain is great too – can’t complain about the quality or prices at all!
