Customer Tile Style Profile: Tracy’s Kitchen Transformation

Our Customer Tile Style Profile feature takes a closer look at some of the amazing renovation and redesign projects our customers undertake using products from the Tile Mountain range. This month’s instalment features Tracy Laing of Maidstone, who took her kitchen from jaded and timeworn to ultra-modern glossy chic using our Extreme White Polished Porcelain floor tiles. We caught up with her to get the lowdown on the startling transformation.

What were the circumstances behind the project?

The kitchen was in great need of a face-lift as it was so old and outmoded. So I decided to go all out and have brand new one fitted!

Was your choice of decor & colour scheme influenced by the tiles you chose, or did you pick the tiles to fit in with a style you’d chosen for the rest of the room?

Initially I had looked at laminate flooring and lino for the kitchen flooring – I dismissed tiles as I thought would be beyond my budget. However, having done a bit of shopping round and happening upon Tile Mountain, I liked the Extreme White Polished Porcelain and picked them so as to fit in with the new kitchen’s style.

What made you decide that the tiles you chose were the right tiles for your project?

The Extreme White Polished Porcelain floor tiles appealed because they’re plain, bright with no pattern at all, which was want I wanted.

How long did the project take to complete and did you do the tiling yourself or hire a professional tiler?

The entire project took exactly three weeks from start to finish. The tiles were laid by a professional tiler after all the units were in place and the and decorating completed. The tiles were all laid in one day.

What part of the project was most difficult and why?

Choosing the flooring. I had considered many options but could not find exactly what I wanted within budget. Then I found Tile Mountain!

Do you have any further decorating projects lined up?

Not in the near future, but there could be some further on down the line.

What advice would you give to people considering undertaking a similar project?

Definitely order samples. It’ll help you get a proper feel for the tile and allow you to see the colours and hues as they really are.

What would you say to people who are thinking about buying tiles from Tile Mountain?

Excellent service, great delivery and so much choice compared to the high street. The online calculator that helps you work out the correct amount amount of tiles grout and adhesive needed is very handy too!
