Eye-Popping Feature Floors To Create a Fantastic Focal Point

The sun is shining at last and Spring has nearly sprung! Which means that our thoughts turn to spring-cleaning, naturally, and an urge to beautify our homes. If you fancy an expanse of cheerful colour and pattern, read on as we’re about to take a closer look at some of our more intriguing floor tiles.

Hanoi Rocks!

Our porcelain Hanoi Blue Star tiles are suited to floors and wall, indoors and out. Invoke memories of Mediterranean summer holidays and create a holiday-style terrace look with these intense, patterned tiles. Opt for the striking geometric patterns of Hanoi Star Blue or Hanoi Cube Grey or go for that Victorian vibe with Hanoi Flower Grey to create a feature design and flank with the plain tiles from the same range to really draw the eye.

Just A Moment…

Spare just a moment to look at these fabulously and eccentrically patterned tiles from our Moments range. Suited to both walls and floors, they’re designed to have the look of traditional encaustic-style tiles. And of course, one of the joys of intricately patterned tiles is that they don’t show the bits/dust that unavoidably get tracked in to a busy kitchen-living area (just saying!). Patterns are also a good way of defining spaces, and can be used in a similar way to a rug or mat to emphasise a seating area or walk-through space. Moments is available in two colourways – grey and beige – and two sizes. There are four wall designs and three floor designs (each individual tile is produced to look like four small tiles). An easy contender for a ‘wow factor’ floor.

Timeless Choices

Our Harrogate porcelain floor tile ticks so many boxes we may run out of space to praise all their advantages! It’s a modern, porcelain tile, created using the very latest HD Inkjet print technology, yet looks like a vintage encaustic tile. So, in a nutshell it would suit a Victorian conservatory, Edwardian hallway, add a quirky mid-century look to a living room, or turn a dull kitchen or bathroom into something extra special. If you’re worried about a fully-tiled living room feeling ‘cold’, consider underfloor heating – take a peek at our Ezewarm underfloor heating systems which are simple to install, cost-effective, and guaranteed to keep your toes toasty. And if you’re unsure about all-over patterns, remember that you can add a plain rug to emphasise one of the colours within the scheme.

Feature Bath, Fabulous Tiles

Sometimes, just one eye-popping feature in a room is enough, but we’re setting that thought aside for the moment, as this amazing bathroom space has managed to combine three focal points, without it looking overdone! (We’re talking about the bath, the wall/floor tiles and the wall colour!) So it just goes to show that it can be done, and we love, love, love the way our Duomo Monza Blue tiles are used here. The gorgeous copper bath is from our pals at Soak and looks incredibly luxurious against the blue and white tiles.

Copper & Blue

Just a couple of inspirational pics to continue the aforementioned blue/copper theme. Our Marrakech Sierra Copper tiles are a fantastic way to add a fresh and interesting colour theme to a room; focussing on classic blue, but adding a whoosh of bright gold-mustard at the same time.

Classic & Contemporary…

This is a real eye-popping combination of Victorian-style tiles paired with super-contemporary fittings and furnishings, in a ultra-modern settings. And it works perfectly. Thanks to our Victorian Centro Viena ceramic tiles (which have matching plains available too). Although this feature is all about wow-factor floors, we love the way it demonstrates the exciting use of the same patterns for wall and floors.

Good Wood Looks

Our Kanna porcelain floor tiles look just like parquet, and provide a very positive and definite style statement for a wow-factor floor. Perfect for kitchens that blend into living and dining spaces, their wood-like appearance provides warmth and acts as a neutral background – still leaving an opportunity to add colourful accessories and pops of colour, such as artworks, a rug, mismatched stools or bar chairs.

And Finally…

Three jaunty rugs to add zest to a tiled floor. From left; Havana Multi rug, from Modern-Rugs; centre;  Lorena Canals washable round rug in Pink from Cuckooland; right; Havana Green-Pink Flamingo rug, also from Modern-Rugs.

Don’t forget, we would love to see any pics of your eye-catching flooring projects. Hit us up on FacebookTwitter or Instagram and show off your creations!
