Our Favourite Interiors Blogs

Like a lot of people, we’ve been spending an inordinate amount of time online lately, still trying to get our interior design fix whilst remaining resolutely indoors. If this sounds like you and it feels like you’ve exhausted every Pintrest board and interiors insta account then read on as we’ve picked out a handful of our favourite interiors blogs that never fail to do the business when it comes to easing some digital interiors inspo into our lives…

Mad About The House

Active for nearly 10 years now, Mad About The House is a great destination for all things house and home and is the baby of award-winning interiors and design journalist Kate Watson-Smyth. Packed full design advice, home showcases, and interviews with designers, creators and interiors experts, this well-presented and easy to read website is a treasure trove of information and inspiration for home lovers and interiors fanatics of all kinds and has even spawned a couple of books!

We Love Home

Big on both style and substance, We Love Home is the brainchild of Brighton-based stylist and journalist Maxine Brady and is a great resource for interiors enthusiasts looking for guidance and inspiration. Whist the content of this blog has diversified in recent years to include lifestyle & travel and wellbeing-focused content, it’s still an Alladin’s cave of useful style tips, product features and trend analysis. If all that isn’t enough for you (or you’ve simply had your fill of reading) then We Love Home also has a wealth of interior features and inspiration on its YouTube and Instagram channels too.

The Design Sheppard

Another big hitter in the world of interior blogs is The Design SheppardWhat started off as a depository for ideas for its freelancer writer creator Stacey Sheppard had steadily grown into a home decor behemoth and is one of go-to internet destinations when it comes to interior style advice, info and inspo. With numerous sections dedicated to specific rooms, furniture, flooring, decor and even artwork, not to mention loads of interesting interviews and profiles of successful designers like Nick Brandt and Preben Lind, this site is the ideal place to spend a couple of hours during lockdown.

Fresh Design Blog

Focused on affordable and accessible design, The Fresh Design Blog is another stalwart of the scene (it’s been running since 2009!) that has gradually come into its own as an authoritative resource for interior obsessives. We reckon that this blog is a great place to start looking for inspo for first time buyers – its whole shtick is ‘contemporary interior design that doesn’t break the bank’ and offers some stirling advice on how to achieve a modern aesthetic on a budget. Expect practical advice on upcycling, special offers and bargain hunting and all that’s in between!

Swoon Worthy

Perhaps the UK’s finest exponent of ‘eclectic boho chic’, Kimberly Duran’s (she’s actually American) award-winning Swoon Worthy blog showcases some big, bold, and very patterned/glitzy looks from her very own deftly curated interiors. There’s tons of advice on offer, all split up into easily navigable sections, but the main draw of this little part of the internet is learning how you can achieve said aesthetics without having to take out a second mortgage. Another big part of Swoon Worthy’s attraction is the ability to take a room-by-room trip through the author’s home and pick up tips on styling individual elements along with buying recommendations.

In the highly unlikely event that you get bored with the Tile Mountain blog (!) we’d highly recommend you check these out – you never know what you might find or if you’ll see something that inspires your next big interiors project! If you can think of any we might have missed then let us know in the comments, tweet us @TileMountainUK, or hit us up on Facebook and we’ll do our best to update this article with your suggestions.
