Trend Watch: The Power of Pale Pink

Shades of pink are everywhere at the moment – from startling cyclamen pink to the palest blush, pale browny-pinks and rose golds. These shades are a beautiful contrast to black or white fittings, dark or light tiles and wood-look flooring. Pale pink adds a touch of warmth and personality to all-white kitchens and bathrooms, taking the edge off what can sometimes end up being a cold and clinical scheme. It also looks spectacularly good with ‘jungle green’ too, so slots in beautifully with plant-filled bathrooms and kitchens. Stay on trend with some of our suggestions …

In the Pink

Our Village Rose Gold ceramic wall tiles have a high gloss finish and are the epitome of perfect pink. They are available in two formats, 132mm x 132mm square, and 65mm x 200mm ‘metro’ style for a slightly more mid-century look. Use with grey or black grout (also available in our range here). Advice is also available from our customer services guys if you need some help choosing the right shade too. Team the tiles with darker accessories for an almost-industrial feel, or with lots of white fittings and accessories for a summery, pastel style scheme.

A Subdued Pink…

Madeleines C24-05 pink is from the Colours of my Mind collection by Francescas Paint. Each tin is mixed by hand, is available in lime wash and eco emulsion formulations, and supplied in recyclable pots. The bases come from Italy, and use just 12 mineral, organic, and synthetic pigments. The finish is velvety and tactile, and the subtle shades can change with the movement of the sunshine, time of day, and different artificial light sources – so it’s worth investing in sample pots and hand-painted colour charts to get your colour choice absolutely spot on!

Green and a Hint of Pink

For a fresh, summery pink and green scheme, take a look at our Adele Sea Green Floor Tiles, which have a matt finish and combine a very subtle collection of colours into a design that will work for floors throughout the home. This design is particularly suited to a conservatory or sunroom, with echoes of a traditional-style conservatory making it a good call for a plant-filled space.

Simply Pink

Go for on-trend hexagonal style with our Kromatika Rosa Wall Tiles. Excellent for a full-wall scheme or mix it up and install in a broken-edge style, allowing the hexagonal shape to draw some extra attention!

Pink’n’Blue

Introduce a hint of pink into a colour scheme with our Adele Light Blue Floor Tiles – they can add just a speck of blue and pink to neutral schemes that involve grey and/or white. Consider these tiles for porches, hallways and utility rooms too…

Background Pink

Pale pink panelling (which can be either real or a wallpaper version) is a dramatic choice for the bathroom – and especially suited to a layout that includes a freestanding tub. This is the stunning Tonbridge 1600mm roll top bath with chrome ball feet from our sister company Bathroom Mountain – take a peek at the ranges available if you’re looking for inspiration for fittings, radiators, and cabinets for the new bathroom project. Try Muted bubblegum Pink 03 from Lick for a similar shade. And to get that contrasting wood-effect floor, consider our Paintwash Wood Effect Tiles in Almond.

Dramatic Pink

It may take a bit of courage to go for a full-size wall mural, but if you want a huge impact, that’s definitely the way to go! This is the Bright Pink Roses Wall Mural wallpaper from Wallsauce. Add contrast with timber-style porcelain planks, such as our Wood Effect Floor Tiles in Country Honey . And yes, Bathroom Mountain has fabulous curved baths too – try either the Chelsea 1800mm Freestanding Bath or the Finsbury 1700 Freestanding Bath.

Back to First Light

First Light by Benjamin Moore paint was their Colour of the Year for 2020 and it’s still absolutely on-trend for 2021 and is described as a refreshing alternative to white or beige – and we would add, it will also team well with a very pale grey. Ah yes, and it also works with white hexagonal floor tiles, such as our Kromatika White porcelain hex tiles, suitable for both walls and floors.

Shell Pink Style

Add a delicate shade of shell pink to your décor – perhaps for the bedroom or bathroom if there’s space for a chair or stool. This is the Manderley Blue Ink Linen Cushion from Cream Cornwall.

A Touch of Pink & Black

Choose a black heated towel rail, such as the Valetta Electric Matt Black Square Heated Towel Rail from Bathroom Mountain. Black taps and accessories are also available and look very chic when paired with natural sandstone effect wall and floor tiles. For a similar look, try our Softstone Grey Rectified Wall Tiles – the rectified edges for each tile enable very precise installation for a neat and tidy look.

Bellissima!

We just had to show you a detailed shot of our beautiful Bella Craquele Pink Wall Tiles. The crackle-glaze finish and cambered surface ensures each tile has an authentic aged look, without the stains and damage that genuine ‘reclaimed’ or ‘antique’ tiles generally have.

Rosy Pink

Why not anchor your pink colour scheme with a few pink accessories? This is the Handmade Bud Vase in Pink Glaze from Rhubarb & Hare, and is just one lovely item from a collection by Claire Folkes Ceramics.
