Trend Watch: Welcome to New Looks for 2022

We appear to have made it through to ’22! So let’s look at some new colour schemes and ideas for the next year. We will have plenty more suggestions over the coming months, not just tiles, but also presenting you with new ideas for engineered wood, laminate and luxury vinyl tiles for your forthcoming projects …

Marble Plus Neutrals

Yes, we think marble is definitely neutral, and it’s very pleasing to see our Barnaby White Gloss Wall & Floor Tiles paired with some gorgeous low-key, Scandi style accessories. Think about natural woods, textural crockery and muted colours for a timeless look. These tiles are porcelain, measure 600mm x 300mm and are also available in a matt finish. Perfect for both kitchens and bathrooms, adding an element of luxury whilst still producing a grounded look.

A Latte, Please

Continue a neutral tone throughout other rooms with Grande Latte Oak Engineered Flooring. This plank-format flooring has light tones, which can act as a calm and creative backdrop to other shades of grey and cream within a neutral scheme. Each plank measures 1092mm x 180mm x 14mm and is laid using a click system  – find more details on installation contact our experts who will help with your queries.

Gold is a Winner

We definitely want to see more gold in colour schemes for 2022, and our Lemmy Pumpkin Gold Wall & Floor Tiles can add a sophisticated metallic element to new schemes. Combine them with the Black or Green versions for a very new look, or step it down and notch and perhaps use a contrasting marble, such as our previously mentioned  Barnaby White Gloss Wall & Floor Tiles for an interesting scheme.

Black & White Style

Black and white schemes for bathrooms are still on-trend – and we can’t see that changing any time soon! Once again, marble schemes are to the fore, and our Invisible Marble Gloss Floor Tiles, which can also be used for walls, look very successful. Marble-looks are often associated with ‘traditional’ style schemes, but work well with a modern twist – as seen here in combination with sleek wall-hung cabinetry and a black radiator. Get the look with a Faro Matt Black Single Flat Panel Vertical Radiator and  wood-finish furniture, both from the collections at Bathroom Mountain

Beautiful Bronze

Metallic colours and finishes will retain their popularity for 2022. We’ve seen lots of copper, rose gold, burnished and brushed metal options this year in many amazing schemes. So we wanted to point out our Grace Bronze Glass Mosaic tiles, which are perfect for adding a hint of sparkle with a metallic accent. Also in Silver and Grey options too.

In the Pink!

Phew, we’re so pleased that pink is still ‘it’ as far as accents colour go – whether it’s a pale and sophisticated choice, such as our Bella Craquele Pink Wall Tiles which have an authentic, aged, crackle glazed finish and slightly cambered surface for a retro-style look. However, if you’re looking for a stronger pink shade, perhaps have a look at Artesano Rose Mallow or Manacor Blush Pink, both also Tile Mountain options.

Back to Black

Black continues to trend for kitchens and bathrooms – for both cabinetry and fittings, and for a dark and dramatic look why not embrace the look with our Trend Black Terrazo Multicolour Wall & Floor Tiles. We love the way the pops of colour on the dark background lighten the look, and those coppery-blush-grey-ivory tones keep the colour scheme interesting and allow for changes of accessories in the future. Take a peek at some black accessories and the Carolina Matt Black Curved Rectangular Counter Top Basin from Bathroom Mountain to get that look!

Everything’s Rosy

Add a touch of pink to contrast with darker shades – our Village Rose Gold ceramic tiles have a high gloss finish and can add warmth and harmony to a dark tiling scheme.

Green Scene

Shades of green are a top choice in kitchen projects that want to emphasise natural tones and materials. Green is the ‘nature’ colour, and works beautifully with natural wood finishes and stone or stone-look surfaces. These are our Village Emerald Green Wall Tiles, used vertically for a super-contemporary look.

Green for Floors

Go for green on the floor (as well as walls) with our Lemmy Viridium Green Wall & Floor Tiles. They’re large format, each measuring 600mm x 1200mm, making them a good choice for expansive floor spaces but equally suited to smaller areas such as bathrooms or cloakrooms where you want to minimise grout lines for a seamless look.

Natural Greens

For a slightly more muted green tone, and one that would be perfect for a kitchen that looks out onto a lush green garden space, consider our shaded Piacenza Mix Olive Wall Tiles. There are soft variations in the shading of each tile, great for a relaxed and welcoming scheme.

Glistening Green Glass

We love the fact that these Raindrop Green Glass Mosaic sheets look fabulous in as a kitchen splashback, or as a full wall in a shower room or bathroom. They can also be used as a detail, perhaps for a border or within a bathroom niche or recess. A subtle way of adding a touch of green and a touch of sparkle within a new scheme.
