Ultimate Combinations: Feature Baths and Fabulous Tiles

A feature bath is a striking addition to any bathroom – yes, it’s sometimes the case that a standard rectangular bath is absolutely the right choice, but if there’s room for manoeuvre then why not strike a pose and go for something that has the wow factor? And naturally, it makes sense to combine it with some of our magnificent tiles to create Ultimate Combinations of a beautiful bath and terrific tiles! Here, we take a closer look at how to do just that…

Elegantly Curved

The Richmond Freestanding Slipper Bath from our sister company Bathroom Mountain is definitely a winner; it’s made from Lucite® acrylic, which is very hardwearing and has a glossy finish. It’s taller at the ‘head’ end, sweeping gradually down to the foot end, and is freestanding. Choose wall-mounted or floor-mounted taps to complete the look. As far as floor tiles are concerned, try our Place White Polished Marble style porcelain tiles for that polished, sophisticated look. And for a forest green paint finish for the panelling, go for a gorgeous green, such as  Studio Green from Farrow & Ball

The Palest Pink

This ultimate combination of the simple Hyde 1700mm Freestanding Bath with black taps and accessories, the palest of pale pink walls, and an understated porcelain tiled floor has supreme elegance. The combination of a very simply designed freestanding bath and low-key furnishings works beautifully, and yes, that pale pink can be easily updated in a few years’ time to create a new combination of style and colour. Try our Elven Blanco Matt Floor Tiles in porcelain to complete that subtle style.

Outdoors & Indoors

Bring a touch of the outdoors to the bathroom with a swathe of greenery – lots of light will help plants thrive – or go ‘faux’ if you don’t have the necessary horticultural skills! Just ensure all the ceiling fixings are secure! But back to the ultimate combination of feature bath and fabulous tiles. Try the Mayfair 1700 Graphite Grey Freestanding Roll Top Slipper Bath from Bathroom Mountain, and continue the combination theme of bold bath and simple tiles, using our Extreme White Polished Porcelain Floor tiles.

Pink & Green, White & Gold

Quite a lot of style combinations going on here, but ultimately, we love the combination of pink and green (tick!) and white and gold (another tick!) for ultimate style. This is the 1690mm Cloud Freestanding Bath from Waters Baths of Ashbourne  Dark green woodwork, this beautiful white bath and touches of pink and gold all combine to create a soothing, restful scheme – which is just what’s need for a relaxing soak! Try our Baltimore Beige Wall and Floor tiles in porcelain, designed to look exactly like grained timber planks, to complete the look.

Ultimate Treat 1: Willow Song bath and shower gel by Noble Isle from The Grey Works. The fresh fragrance has base notes of cedarwood and musk, and it’s vegan and cruelty-free.

Ultimate Treat 2: Recycled Glass Lotion Dispenser and Tumbler, from a stylish collection of bathroom accessories at Dunelm.

Ultimate Treat 3: Spruce up the new bathroom with some Kaycee cotton towels in Dark Teal, from the 100% cotton range at MADE.com

Faded Elegance

We rather like the combination here of a contemporary version of a traditional-style slipper bath. This is the Westminster 1700mm Freestanding Slipper Bath, from Bathroom Mountain, looking fabulous in a ‘faded grandeur’ setting. Go for flooring with a similarly faded and worn appearance, such as our Mikeno Ash Wood Effect Wall and Floor porcelain planks.

In the Frame

This fabulous bathroom combines several concepts in one – there’s the stand-out bath, similar to the Finsbury 1500mm Freestanding Bath from Bathroom Mountain, sitting in great contrast to our concrete-style Ardosia Anti-Slip porcelain floor tiles. And just for an added element of contrast, this inspirational scheme also features our Bella Craquele Pink Wall Tiles. Rather a good combination with the paneled shower enclosure and glazed cabinets, and a definite on-trend look taking in the black framing and brassware.

Being Bold

You can’t get much a much bolder choice than a black freestanding bath, and this one definitely combines will with the pale grey wall and floor tiles. Add in some timber/black framed cabinetry, table and plant stand, and the scheme comes to a fabulous conclusion. As ever, it’s the little things that make a difference, such as the touches of greenery and decorative accessories that bring life into an otherwise minimalist scheme. Our Talent Grey Wall and Floor Tiles also come in Beige and White, with décor wall tiles also available to add interest and texture. For a similar look, try Kaldewei for black enamelled steel baths.
