– Get The Right Light

It’s incredibly important to ensure you get the right level and kind of lighting when taking your images. We’d always suggest using natural lighting, rather than using the artificial flash on your phone or camera. By using natural lighting you’re ensuring other customers can get a feel for what the product looks like in a real setting. Take your photo at an appropriate time of day when its light and bright outside, rather than when it’s dark and miserable.

– Remove Any Clutter From the Area

When you take your photo make sure you clear away any clutter or mess in the space that look unappealing to a customer. This includes anything like leftover grout or adhesive that you may have used to complete the room. We would love to see your normal home comforts however. Things like furniture and décor is welcome in your photos, as they make your space look lived in and natural.

– Avoid Pictures of Yourself

When you send us your lovely pictures, please make sure you’re sending an image of the just the product, not including yourself, as we cannot feature your face on the website. However, Its always lovely to see your fury friends enjoying our products. If your pets are desperate to be in the shot and you feel happy for them to potentially be featured on our site, please send us a few snaps!

– Done and Dusted

When you take your pictures, please ensure your project is completely finished. Seeing the process of redoing your kitchen or bathroom will always be exciting to us, and we love when you tag us in these images on our Instagram! However, to get the full effect of the product we ask for the end result! Remove any spacers or leftover product from the area, ensuring its nice and tidy for your photoshoot.

– Stay Focused

As you take your image, make sure you check your camera is in focus. If you’re taking the image on your smart phone, you can simply tap the screen where you’d like the camera to focus before taking the image. If your image appears unfocused and blurry, we cant see a true reflection of how amazing the product looks in your space. Focus on the product you’re reviewing, and not it’s surroundings.
