Customer Tile Style Profile: Jayne’s Bathroom of Eastern Delights

Our Customer Tile Style Profile feature takes a closer look at some of the amazing renovation and redesign projects our customers undertake using products from the Tile Mountain range. This month’s edition sees us catching up with Jayne Fletcher of Gloucester who added some Eastern style to her dated bathroom using our large Riga Patchwork wall and  floor tiles.

What were the circumstances behind the project?

I’ve been planning a new bathroom for a long time, and I saw the tiles on the Tile Mountain website and fell in love! The whole project was themed around them – I’d already used Tile Mountain before for my kitchen makeover, so ordering again was a no-brainer!

Was your choice of decor & colour scheme influenced by the tiles you chose, or did you pick the tiles to fit in with a style you’d chosen for the rest of the room?

Absolutely! Fell in love with them at first sight and planned the whole bathroom around them.

What made you decide that the tiles you chose were the right tiles for your project?

Because they’re beautiful, quirky and very me!

How long did the project take to complete and did you do the tiling yourself or hire a professional tiler?

The project had been in planning for a long time but once it started it took just over 2 weeks – I asked Andy Cresswell of Fix It Property Maintenance, Gloucester – he’s brilliant and has done other projects for me in the past.

What part of the project was most difficult and why?

Andy, our tiler, said the cutting and matching the corners were the hardest part, especially the cutting as the tiles were rock hard but also quite fragile, if that makes sense.

Do you have any further decorating projects lined up?

Always!

What advice would you give to people considering undertaking a similar project?

It will take longer than planned! You will probably need a few extra for wastage, so factor that in when planning your project. I had to order more.

What would you say to people who are thinking about buying tiles from Tile Mountain?

Having bought both kitchen and bathroom tiles from Tile Mountain I would definitely recommend the company – brilliant selection of tiles and great service, especially when I had to order extra to complete the bathroom project.

If you’d like to see your project featured in our monthly Customer Tile Style Profile, simply leave a review of the products you bought and share photos of your completed tiling project on our Facebook wall. If we use your photos on our website we’ll send you a crisp £20 Amazon voucher for your troubles and even make you internet famous for a bit in this very feature.
