Hallway Tiles

I unexpectedly had to replace my hallway floor. These tiles are an unusual and beautiful design, it was hard to find something that fit my green and light blue requirements but these have worked out perfectly. They are large, heavy and high quality. Laid on the diagonal they have made a real feature of my floor.

Hello, Can these be laid directly onto an external brick wall? Would the bricks need priming? Thank you.

logo

Our advice: The brick would require priming with Eco Prim Grip Plus SKU: 1560005 and adhering with Keraquick Grey Fast Setting Adhesive 20kg SKU: 012120UK.

Rebecc 06/10/22

Hi, can these be used as wall tiles? i want them to tile a downstairs cloakroom. thanks

logo

Our advice: If the tiles are being installed directly onto plasterboard or a tile backer board, then yes, these may be installed onto walls. They would not be suitable for installing onto plastered walls.

What adhesive do you use to stick these tiles to a concrete base?

logo

Our advice: For an outdoor installation onto a solid concrete base, we would recommend Adesilex P4 Grey Floor Adhesive 20kg SKU: 218220.

TE 20/07/22

Hi, given the thickness, are these suitable for use as the surface of a step? Also can you confirm the anti-slip rating as the product details state R10 but the other Q & A mention R11.

logo

Our advice: These tiles are suitable for an external project including a step face providing they are installed onto a cured concrete base and adhered with an exterior tile adhesive. I do apologise for the confusion regarding the slip rating. I can confirm the rating is in fact R10.

Lydia Morgan 21/06/22

Would these be suitable for an outdoor patio area? We do get snow and frost most winters. Thanks.

logo

Our advice: Yes, providing the tiles are installed onto a concrete base and adhered using an exterior tile adhesive.

I’ve bought these tiles and they have just arrived - and whilst your details here say they are porcelain the boxes say ‘glazed porcelain ceramic tiles’ so are they still porcelain? I am using them in a green house and have been advised to get porcelain ones

logo

Our advice: These tiles are Porcelain you will be able to confirm this by checking the back of the tiles. If the underside is red the tile is Ceramic if it's a pale greyish colour it's Porcelain. As the tiles are made in Spain the manufacturers will label the boxes, in Spain, they tend not to differentiate between Porcelain and Ceramic as much as we do. This is because both types of tile are made in the same way it's just that a Porcelain tile will be compressed and fired to a much higher degree.
