Would this be suitable to increase the thickness of porcelain tiles under a log burner?
Our advice: This backer board would give you an extra 6mm depth underneath your tiles. It is suitable to be used under a log burner.

Can the board be installed instead of floor boards on floor joists and also take the weight of a bath tub?
Our advice: Unfortunately no, the HardieBacker board would need to be installed on top of floorboards. We would recommend using 6mm HardieBacker Board 1200x800 SKU: 445675 for the floor.
