Cooler weather, misty mornings and the wonderful colours of autumn leaves always brings it home how lovely it is to have the dramatic changes of seasons … how dull would it be to have the same weather all the time! So this time, Trend Watch is inspired by beautiful autumn colours – which will cosy-up your schemes in time for the really cold weather!
Dark & Cosy Looks
It only takes some timber-style tiles to add a warm, autumnal feel to a dark room scheme. The main dark tiles here are our Belize Grey Wall & Floor tiles, designed to look like honed, weathered slate – but as they’re porcelain, they need no upkeep. The large format design is 598mm x 298 mm. Use Belize Beige Wall & Floor tiles as a strong contrast for the floor. And as for the timber-style shower area, try our Nordic Wood Dark Brown Wall & Floor porcelain tiles, which also come in Light Brown and Pearl Wood for a paler look.
Epitome of Autumn
Create an autumnal theme throughout your home with our Vintage Floor Tiles which embrace all the shades of autumn, with a weathered, vintage-style look. Each porcelain plank-style tile measures 150mm x 600mm, has a non-slip finish and has no maintenance requirements – unlike ‘real’ reclaimed timber! Perfect for a subtle, welcoming autumn-inspired scheme.
On-Trend: Quartz Work Surfaces
Quartz is a great choice for kitchen surfaces, and there are endless colour options available, from stark whites to dense, dark browns and blacks. This is a great combination, Konigstone Rio Blanco, where areas of gold, rust and brown are scattered against a white background. An excellent, ‘of the moment’ choice for surfaces and a great contrast to the darker shades of porcelain planks for floors – such as our Maderia Toscana Polished Wood Effect Floor Tiles.
A Ray of Sunshine
This dramatic shade of yellow, Harvest Dusk, was one of the Dulux Colour Futures Colour Of The Year 2021 Harvest Dusk and was chosen to combine with Brave Ground, which was the optimal Colour of the Year for 2021 from Dulux. This shade is perfectly contemporary, and yet also sits well in a cosy kitchen with complementing natural materials and finishes. Definitely a colour that will stick around and stay on-trend (and yes, we’ll be looking at Colours of The Year for 2022 very soon!).
Autumn Gold
Our Lemmy Pumpkin Gold Wall & Floor Tiles can be described at the perfect shade for autumnal looks … the blended shades are so beautiful and will warm up a colour scheme in no time at all. Here, the mix of Pumpkin Gold with Excalibur Grey for the shower area and floor is a great mix – a successful example of ‘warm’ and ‘cool’ shades working together in harmony to create a successful scheme.
In The Corner
We love the on-trend Autumn vibes here, the corner sofa is part of the Cassie Collection by Furniture And Choice, in a great soft shade of Mink. Add apricot/mink/cream cushions for a cosy, comforting seasonal look. And for a similar flooring look, we would suggest Graziella Roble Oak Wood Effect Porcelain Floor Tiles which can be installed with underfloor heating to keep everyone warm. Autumn Trends
Keep to the Autumn theme with a set of cake tins for all that home baking that will get done over the next few months! These are the Emma Bridgewater Autumn Fruits Set of 3 Tins from Annabel James. Right, one of our Lemmy Viridium Green Wall & Floor Tiles, slotting in perfectly to the autumnal trend. More stock is due very soon, and in the meantime it’s still possible to order samples.
Halloween’s Coming, Too…
No, it’s not too early to embrace Halloween vibes as well as Autumnal looks … and what could be more appropriate than pumpkin themed lights and faux candles from a selection at lights4fun – and these are nice enough to have on display all-year-round.
Watching the Trends
We love how this stylish hallway embraces several trends in one fell swoop! First of all, our fabulous Clay Chequer Silver Floor Tiles, each measuring 450mm x 450mm and having the appearance of four smaller tiles, have the look of traditional, old-style distressed tiles, yet will stand up to all the wear and tear a busy family could inflict upon them! The shades are soft and subtle, falling into our Autumnal theme this month. Team with natural wood finishes (the furniture, the stairs), bold jungle green upholstery, and some plants for a perfect, on-trend look …
In The Hallway
To continue with our hallway suggestion, consider the magnificent Comillas tiles, which are a ‘new’ version of traditional Victorian encaustic tiles, but this time in contemporary ceramic with hi-tech inkjet printing technology used to replicate the colours and patterns. Each tile measures 330mm x 330mm and has the appearance of four smaller tiles. And of course, these warm, natural shades are perfectly suited to a seasonal look.
Autumn Trends & Contrasts
Our Trend White Terrazo Wall & Floor Tiles have a white background – so that keeps anyone who doesn’t want a dark scheme happy, yet still include a selection of warm and welcoming autumnal shades. Terrazzo is making a comeback, it’s not just for holiday apartments and shopping centres anymore! Take a closer look at the beautiful shades here, and for an even close look, order a free sample from our website here. Each tile measures 600mm x 600mm, with a matt finish.
Browns & Golds
This is the decorated version of Clay Seal, which is a gorgeous mixture of sand, brown and beige shades … it can be mixed in with the Clay Chequer Silver and Sand designs to create a multi-patterned floor. Try a patterned border and plain central area, or vice-versa, of course!
Welcoming Shades
This bathroom is a classic combination of subtle shades and textures which all work together to create a harmonious look that sits beautifully within our Autumnal Trend Watch theme. The wall and floor tiles are Belize Beige in porcelain, with a look of beige slate – they also come in Grey and Light Grey colour options. For the wood-look floor, try our Graziella Roble Oak Wood Effect porcelain plank-style tiles, each measuring 1200mm x 230mm.
