I am contemplating replacing a natural stone floor with this laminate flooring (if the boss approves!). Due to the thickness of the stone and the potential unevenness of the substrate, can I use both the 4mm fibreboards and the foam underlay to raise the level to that of the existing floor to negate gaps under the door architraves and kitchen plinths? Note this will be laid on a wet underfloor heating system.Our Advice

We would advise levelling the floor prior to installing any laminate on top. Once you have a level floor, you will need to use a suitable underlay, such as the 2mm Silver Underlay (sku 454195.)

Hello, Can this be used with a wet under floor heating system? Will the underfloor affect the lacquer in any way? Our Advice

Yes, this flooring would be suitable for water-based underfloor heating. Please note the underfloor heating would need to be encased in a screed at a minimum thickness of 17 mm and could not exceed 27 degrees. The lacquer would not be compromised provided the installation is completed to the correct requirements.

We would recommend using a product that is suitable for use on a laminate floor, such as our Wood and Laminate Clearner (sku 454255).

Hi. Is the gloss finish on the ice oak flooring vulnerable to scrating or losing its shine? Can the floor be treated to restore any scuffs or loss of shine?Our Advice

Good morning, Should any sharp object be drawn across the flooring there is the potential for this to scratch and cause invisible damage to the product. In terms of any general wear and tear that could cause the product to dull we would expect this to be covered in the product's residential warranty which extends over 30 years. This would obviously only stand provided the flooring is cleaned with appropriate products and treated/installed as advised by the manufacturer's guide. Kind regards,
