Manufactured from high-density polystyrene coated with a specially formulated reinforced cement that provides a hard-wearing, robust waterproof surface perfect for the application of wall and floor tiles, plaster and synthetic cement: sand render. Pro Boards are lightweight, have excellent thermal insulation properties making them ideal for use with under-tile heating mats and cables, and also provide high compressive strength. Available in 1200mm x 600mm sheets, Pro Boards are able to support a finished weight of 85kg/m2. Suitable for use on both internal and external walls and floors, Pro Board is waterproof and therefore suitable for use in showers, steam rooms, pools and spas. The boards may be screw-fixed or laid into the cement-based adhesive. Joints between the boards should be taped using a joint tape.

Hi can I ask if these boards are suitable for wall hanging in a bathroom & shower ?? Also what would you recommend to use to seal and waterproof all the joints?Our Advice

Although suitable for use on a wall, these boards are generally for use with underfloor heating on a floor. For the scenario you have mentioned, we would recommend using Hardie backer boards.

What is the difference between the 6mm board & the 10mm board?Our Advice

The difference would be the thickness. The 10mm would be thicker and designed for areas which need better insulation.

You would need to order 24 of our 10mm Pro Insulation Boards.

I need the insulation boards to be put down onto screed, do you sell the glue for this?Our Advice

We would suggest using our keraquick grey (SKU: 012120UK) to stick the insulation boards onto the screed.

Can the norcros pro board be used as a backing board to screw into the brickwork of a chimney breast to then apply heavy split face slate tiles onto to strengthen and take the weight of the tiles so they don't pull away from the wall and fall off.Our Advice

Thank you for your question. Yes, our pro insulation boards can be used as baker boards, and can take the weight of up to 85kg, so there should be no issue as long as they are firmly secured to the wall. Is 10mm proboard suitable to lay on 18mm ply on a suspended wooden floor to stop deflection?Our Advice

Thank you for your question. The Pro Insulation Board 600x1200 10mm can be laid on the 18mm ply but it would not stop deflection in any way. The only way to stop deflection is to make the floor stronger by using a tile backer board or a anti fracture membrane, the one we supply is Permalayer SKU 434975. Are the boards easily cut to size and shape? Would a hand saw be a suitable tool to cut the boards?Our Advice
