What is the best way to cut these tiles, would it be with a standard tile cutter and water,
Our advice: We would advise cutting with a diamond-tipped wet wheel cutter.

What makes the slate no good for outdoors?
Our advice: The reason is that the tile is produced in a way that usually for aesthetic reasons isn't grouted. For that reason the project wouldn't be water right, over time water will seep behind the tiles and gradually work away at the adhesive. There is also potential for the water that gets behind the tiles to freeze and expand causing the tiles to pop off the substrate.

Best thing for cleaning and sealing these tiles?
Our advice: We would advise sealing with our Stoneplus - 1 Ltr - Colour Enhancing Stain Protector SKU: 430675 and cleaning with Cleaner Pro 1 Ltr - Professional Maintenance for Surfaces SKU: 430655.

Can these split face tiles be used outdoors??
