We’re all making the most of our outdoor spaces these days, and although the weather has been a bit up and down, here at Tile Mountain HQ we’re super-busy with fulfilling loads of orders for tiles and samples – it’s obvious that there’s still a lot of outdoor updating going on! So, with that in mind we thought it quite apt that this month’s Trend Watch brings you some ideas for the main space itself and some cheeky little accessories too…
Off to a Good Start
Hit the trends running with our Eire Gris Cobbles outdoor slabs. Each measures a huge 610mm x 610mm so you can get that intricate look, but without the effort needed when using multiple small tiles. Go for a plain all-over-squares look with the Eire Gris Cobbles Outdoor Slabs, or add decorative detail, as shown here, with the Eire Gris Cobbles Decor Outdoor Tiles
All Neat & Symmetrical
We love the precision of this outdoor design, using our Ebor Beige outdoor porcelain slabs, designed to replicate natural stone, and available in both Beige and Grey. These tiles have rectified edges, meaning that grout lines are crisp and straight. The gravel/slab combination adds a different focus, lay a layer of membrane to stop weeds peeking through.
Grey Matters
A close up of the beautiful detail in our Island Grey outdoor tiles. These tiles are a good choice for a large project, they enhance the spacious look whilst having beautiful details upon further close inspection. They have a high anti-slip rating, R11, and are practically indistinguishable from natural stone.
Alfresco Acessories
Add a splash of colour to your outdoor entertaining space with some colourful glassware. We’re rather keen on this Set of 4 Glass Tumblers in Amber from Five And Dime Interiors. Perfect for a Pimm’s or a long G&T or just a refreshing glass of juice.
Shed some light on proceedings with a combined electric outdoor light/heater, such as the stylish Umbra Outdoor Electric Steel Heater, available from Gardenesque.
Planning Perfection
We love the formality of a corner outdoor sofa combined with the crisp look of our Cracovia Grey outdoor matt porcelain slabs. Each measure 600mm x 600mm and they look totally on-trend when combined with natural timber finishes and a little bit of greenery here and there. Keep it simple, keep it stylish!
Raise a Glass
Cheers to a successful outdoor project! We love these silvered and laser-patterned tropical leaves tumblers from Not Just Jugs – gin bowls and champagne saucers are also available.
Striking Patterns
Add an element of pattern to your project with our Hardblue Grey Decor outdoor slabs. They look very good as a step edge (each slab measures 600mm x 600mm), as a large expanse of pattern, or as a detail scattered here and there, or perhaps as a border. Let your imagination take off – and remember if you need any help with quantities, planning or installation advice you can talk to our experts online, or by telephone. A Ray of Sunshine
Add a touch of sunny yellow to outdoor schemes with this gorgeous Yellow Zig-Zag Cushion from Sass & Belle. It’s made from recycled yarn and cotton – it’s not an outdoor cushion though, so make sure you bring everything indoors each evening.
Ready for a Close-Up?
Take a closer look at our Bellevue Grey porcelain tiles, which are designed to look exactly like Gneiss stone. Each tile is 20mm thick and has an R11 anti-slip rating. Also in Ivory, White, and for a darker look, Graphite. Suitable for driveways, too.
Greenery for Sunny Days
Sit back and enjoy your new terrace with friends and family – we are in the habit of putting some of the indoor plants outside to breath in fresh air and sunshine (when the weather looks predictable, of course!). A favourite planter is the Green Glass Plant Pot on Stand from Audenza. We would love to see pics of your outdoor decorative additions.
Lovely Limestone Looks
Limestone is a classic choice for outdoor paving projects – but is often prohibitively costly, especially for a very large space! So we’re pleased to introduce, once again, our Valar Beige outdoor porcelain slabs, which measure 595mm x 595mm and replicate real limestone – without the water absorption and staining issues. For installation advice, visit our help centre.
Tile-Style-Cushion
Is it even possible that a cushion has a tile-pattern influence? Yes, of course! We just had to give you a little look at this fabulous Bold Embroidered Cushion from Monsoon. What an excellent choice for that new outdoor relaxing-in-the-sunshine area!
Terrace-Style Terrazzo
Choose our stylish Terrazzo Grigio 600mm x 600mm large-format porcelain tiles for a sleek outdoor look. Team with a bed of gravel or pebbles to add the finishing touches to a flower bed or border.
Thinking of going for any of the looks explored in your next exterior revamp? If so then we’d love to see your pictures of the end result – share your images with us over on Twitter tagging @TileMountainUK or on Instagram!
