10 of the best Tiles & Trends We Loved in 2022

Here’s a look at some of the trends and looks we loved in 2022 – all of these designs featured in our ‘most popular’ lists. Using tiles from indoors to outdoors was a recurring theme, our customers loved adding a streamlined look to their flooring schemes by installing the same tiles inside and out. Marble designs, and narrow tiles, used vertically and diagonally also featured prominently, as well as natural stone and concrete looks. Next time we’ll be looking at the colours and patterns to look forward to for 2023 …

Indoors & Outdoors

Our Maddox Light Grey Porcelain Floor Tiles are a very subtle choice, with the industrial-style look of weathered concrete, usually seen in rather more industrial-style settings. They can be used outdoors as well, and work well when the aim is to introduce subtle yet hardwearing style into the outdoor-indoor scheme. For outdoor use, Maddox tiles need to be installed onto a concrete base – our team of experts can provide advice via our Contact page.

Glossy Style

Add a glossy, polished look to an interior scheme with our Lounge Light Grey Polished Porcelain Tiles. They have the look of natural stone, but with a highly polished finish, which has a R9 anti-slip rating, and can be paired with underfloor heating. Another good choice for an indoor-outdoor theme, as the matt version of this design, which can be seen here, can be used outdoors to continue that sleek look from kitchen to dining room to terrace.

The Green Team

Green themes have been enormously popular this year, from plain green tiles such as our Village Mint rectangular wall tiles, to our Oasis botanical and leaf pattern designs. Shown here, our Onyx Marble Effect Turquoise Green Polished wall and floor tiles hit the spot for colour, pattern and style. Onyx designs are set to become as popular as marble looks, adding high-end style to a bathroom scheme.

Herringbone Pink

Lots of customers wanted tiles that could be installed in a herringbone format, and our Piacenza Mix Rose Pink Wall Tiles quickly became a favourite look. Each of the Piacenza tiles measures 250mm x 50mm so they’re easy to handle, and there are several other shades available, including white, aqua, olive, bone and ash. Polished Pink

Embracing three popular themes at once, our Fantasy Calacatta Pink Polished Marble Effect porcelain tiles are a very good choice for a luxe-elegant bathroom look. These tiles add a sophisticated look to a bathroom, with a warm hint of pink paired with soft grey veining and a shiny gloss finish.

The Vertical Challenge

Vertical installation was another big success this year, with lots of our customers going vertical! This is a particularly effective installation, with the strong vertical lines adding a very streamlined look to the whole scheme. Our Manacor Glacier ceramic tiles have a intense gloss finish, with a deep glaze, and come in other gorgeous colour options, including Blue Moon, Basil and Ocean Blue.

Simple Stone Style

Stone-style floors continued to be super-popular, and these tiles, City Stone Clay, replicate concrete, whilst having the advantages of porcelain. They’ve been paired up with more vertical loveliness, in the shape of our Artesano Graphite porcelain tiles, installed in a non-staggered block format for a utilitarian, contemporary look.

Blissful Bathrooms

Get the look of timber planks in the bathroom with a water-resistant laminate, such as our Sea Arctic Oak Laminate Flooring. These laminate planks are suitable for all rooms in the home, from bathrooms to living and dining rooms, kitchens, and even the conservatory. These tough laminate planks won’t be affected by water or sunlight, and can help achieve a streamlined look throughout the home. Great for large spaces where you want to see expanses of beautiful flooring, and equally suited to smaller homes where the same flooring is required throughout to emphasise a flowing, cohesive look.

Traditional Oak

The traditional look of timber flooring never goes out of style, and our Medio Rustic Oak Engineered Flooring was a top choice of many of our customers. It has a three-layer construction, with a top layer of European oak with choice of two finishes – oiled or matt lacquered. Each plank measures 1029mm x 130mm, and is a click-fit installation, with bevelled edges on each side of each plank. Suited to all rooms, with the exception of the bathroom, so it’s another great choice for a streamlined look throughout the home.
