Not sure where to start with your walls? Well you’re in luck as we’re about to take a deep dive into a cluster of inspirational, practical and beautiful design schemes that are guaranteed to result in awesome walls…
Centre Stage
Let your tiling scheme take centre stage in your bathroom with a choice selection of our Grazia Hexagon wall and floor tiles. There are 20 décor tiles, which can be used with our Apollo plain tiles in White, Black or Grey. These porcelain tiles are suitable for walls and floors, so get your imagination going to create practical and interesting design solutions for your walls. We particularly like the way this pattern continues down the wall and into the shower area in this particular inspiration shot! And to note another design detail…look how the black framed shower panel literally ‘frames’ that view of the showing area. Very pleasing to the eye we think you’ll agree.
Star Struck
Our Metropolis Star ceramic wall and floor tiles are available in five colours – Black, Indigo, Sienna, Laurel and Silver. Such a dramatic design solution for so many home, the star motif is timeless and will sit happily in both ultra-modern and typically traditional roomscapes. If you’re at the beginning of a bathroom makeover, consider that wall mounted tiles and a freestanding bath will need space to accommodate the plumbing necessities – so here a false wall behind the bath allows space for the fixings for the taps, and placing the bath on a raised platform helps with the installation for the bath drain. The white tiles are our Metro Matt White.
New Ideas
A flying visit to the KBB Birmingham Kitchen & Bathroom industry exhibition this week threw up a huge amount of inspirational ideas; we will be bringing you some top picks over the next few weeks, hopefully to add some inspiration to your kitchen and bathroom projects. But to start with, from the new AXOR bathroom fittings range; left, Axor Edge Thermostatic Concealed Shower Mixer with Diamond Cut Décor in black and right, Axor Edge Single Lever Basin Mixer in Polished Red Gold. Yes, those can go straight onto the ‘wish list’! And of course, centre, a close-up of our Metropolis Star tiles in black, so you can see the beautiful aged/distressed detailing.
Horizontally Speaking
It is, of course, perfectly practical to design a bathroom with fully tiled walls, and here the division between en-suite bathroom and the bedroom is precise and controlled. The overall area is spacious and minimalistic, with most of the decorative detail provided by our Brix Anthracite ceramic tiles. We love the way the horizontal lines of the replica split face mosaic look leads the eye towards the magnificent outdoor view, and we like the horizontal bands of the basin wall too! A clever and simple way of creating emphasis and a sophisticated interior-design look using some very simple ideas.
Diagonal Drama
We love this adventurous wall tiling design – such a dramatic finish, not just the diagonal lines of our hugely popular Metro Tiles in Dark Grey, we love the zig-zag top lines as well – far more interesting that all that cutting that would have been necessary to create a straight edge! Team the plain glossy Metro tiles with patterned floor tiles, such as our Duomo Centro in Black for an eye-catching display.
All Matched Up
This bathroom scheme works particularly well, because of the way the wall and floor tiles have been laid. These are our Country Khaki porcelain wood effect tiles, designed to have the look and texture of real wood, but of course, without the upkeep of real timber! Notice how the use of them horizontally within the shower area emphasises the width of the room, making it appear wider, and how the length of the room is also emphasised by running the planks along the length. Clever stuff!
Super Stylish in Orange
If you want a simple, slick wall tile solution, look no further than a single colour, top to bottom, on two walls. Best wall options would be of course the bath/shower walls for sheer practicality and easy maintenance. Our Metro Orange wall tiles are outrageously cheerful and of course, look excellent when used with black fittings and black wall tiles. Which means that a plain white bath and white sanitary ware is a simple and straightforward choice too. If orange is just a bit too cheerful for you, our Metro tiles also come in Teal and Plum, as well as various neutrals, and black and white – so there really is something for everyone.
Grey Matters
A lovely example of how a relatively simple colour scheme can add interest and texture to bathroom walls, whilst keeping the overall look simple and laid back. Our Yosemite tiles are large format glazed porcelain, designed to look like natural stone in narrow strips. Here, just one wall tiled in the Grey Split Face version adds the required amount of texture and interest…the rest of the scheme, (right hand wall and floor) is also from the Yosemite collection, this is the Yosemite Grey Wall & Floor large format option. Add a dark wood wash stand, white basin and some greenery for effortless and timeless bathroom style.
