Excellent slabs, look great!

Really happy with the slabs. They look great, had no issues with any of them on delivery and were excellently priced. They arrived quickly and the delivery driver was particularly helpful with getting them down a tight alleyway. Have had them down for a few months now and they seem to be very durable and easy to clean. Also not slippery when wet, would recommend!

Hi is it required to bond/pva the back of the 20mm slab before laying? I did not anticipate this! However came across some suggestions that it’s a must! My tile is the Icarus Grey Thanks

logo

Our advice: This tile can be installed either on to a cured concrete base and adhered using an external tile adhesive. This method would not require the back of the tile being primed. The second method would be installing the tiles onto a hardcore base. We would only recommend using this method if you plan to adhere the tiles using our Norcros Rock Tite system. This system includes a Primer, Mortar and brush in grout. The products would need to be used in line with the instructions set by Norcros in order for the installation to be sound.

What type of outdoor grout should be used with these tiles. With 7mm spacers. Also do these tiles need sealed once payed and grouted? Thanks

logo

Our advice: We would advise using either our Ultracolor Manhattan (Light Grey) 110 Flexible Grout 5kg SKU: 6011005A or Norcros Rock-Tite Brush in Grout 15kg - Steel Grey SKU: 451490. These tiles do not require sealing but you could protect them by using our LTP Porcelain Tile Protector - Pre Grout Treatment Interior & Exterior Use SKU: LTP391.

Is there a time you would recommend as match for this internally?

logo

Our advice: There isn't unfortunately.

Your Q&A responses recommend a 5mm gap for grouting. If using pedestals, can this gap be reduced much further?

logo

Our advice: Grouting is not necessary for an installation on pedestals. When installing onto pedestals the gap between tiles is not negotiable and will be dictated by the cross-pieces on the top of the pedestals, the gaps will be around 2-3mm.

Is there an indoor version of these tiles?

logo

Our advice: This tile does not have an indoor companion tile.

Chris 18/08/22

If laying on pedestals does it require one in the middle or would it be strong enough for a patio with just the corners?

logo

Our advice: For a 600x600mm slab tile, a central support would not be necessary. There would be no harm in adding one but it would not be essential.

Can you lay these in sand and cement?

logo

Our advice: We wouldn't advise laying these tiles into a sand cement base. The tiles can either be laid onto a concrete base and adhered with an exterior tile adhesive or they may be installed onto a hardcore base and adhered using our Norcros Three Part Rock Tite System.
