Our Top Wet Room Ideas

Wet rooms have quickly become a hot trend in the UK in recent years. They’re versatile and can create a really luxurious feeling within your bathroom. They’re a beautiful feature to have! Here are our top wet room ideas to get you inspired and motivated to refresh your bedroom!

1 – Introduce Zones With Different Tile Designs

By using different patterns or designs across your space, you can create zoned areas throughout your bathroom. This could be a zoned sink area, toilet, or even wet room! Simply choose a tile that complements the rest of the design you have in mind, and implement it into one particular area that you’d like to zone off. Here we’ve used our Calacatta Blue Marble Effect Tiles to create a separation for the shower space from the rest of the bathroom. We love the luxurious look and feel that our Calacatta Blue Tiles give off, while still injecting a bit of colour and vibrancy to an otherwise quite neutral area.

2 – Opt for Classy Neutrals

Using neutral tones and colours across the bathroom space can create a relaxing and spa-like atmosphere. What could be more perfect for after those long hard days when you just need to unwind? Choosing neutral tones like creams, whites and warm greys can inject that sense of class and elegance, also allowing freedom when it comes to the furniture you wish to implement. For our Doblo Matt Cream Porcelain Floor Tiles, we’ve kept the whole shower area complementary to the rest of the space. The neutral warmth of this room makes for a really luxurious wet room, and makes the space appear much more expensive than you’d first think.

3 – Create Coherence With the Accessories You Use

To create a truly coherent and complimentary bathroom, we’d recommend you use the same style accessories and hardware throughout your whole space. For example, if you’ve utilised a lot of chrome silver hardware across your bathroom, consider choosing a chrome silver shower, to work hand in hand with the rest of the room. For our example we’ve ensured our shower complements some of the features across the rest of the space, like the floor and ladder accessory. Bathroom Mountain’s Matt Black Munich Shower Screen and Matt Black Shower Head perfectly compliment the bathroom design and ensure the whole space works together seamlessly.

4 – Continue The Scheme Across The Whole Bathroom

If you’ve decided on the design style you’d like your wet room area to be first, ensure you work the rest of your bathroom scheme around this. This goes for the other way round too! If you’ve decided you’d like a modern and contemporary shower space and have landed on perhaps grey stone effect tiles to complement this style, ensure you carry it on through your choice of all the other bits of bathroom furniture. For our Yosemite Ivory Wall and Floor Tiles, we’ve ensured we keep their natural beauty and style throughout the rest of the bathroom by using complimentary features, like this wooden sink unit. This room also uses our previous idea of creating zones, with a different, more textured tile used across the sink area compared to the shower space.

5 – Ensure You Have Nice Toasty Towels Ready And Waiting

There’s no worse feeling than getting out of the shower in the colder months and having no toasty warm towel to wrap up in! We thinks when designing a wet room it is a necessity to have a heated towel ready and waiting. Consider implementing a towel rail close to your shower area, so the second you climb out of the shower you can get wrapped up warm. We’d always recommend Bathroom Mountains wide selection of towel rails to find the ideal option for you and your bathroom. One of our favourites is the Madrid Matt Black Designer Heated Towel Rail. It’s elegant and classy with a bit of fun personality to liven up the space.

6 – Make the Most of Underfloor Heating

Following on from our previous point, it’s important your whole body is nice and warm, from top to toe. The best way of doing this is with underfloor heating. Stepping onto a nice warm floor is a luxurious feeling, and is easier to access than it has been previously. Underfloor heating doesn’t just heat up the lower portion of your bathroom, it effectively heats up the entire room. When tiling your floor, ensure you choose a tile that is suitable for underfloor heating. All of our tiles will tell you whether it’s suitable or not in the product details table, but if you’re still not sure don’t hesitate to get in touch with our friendly team!

7 – Create a Sense of Luxury And Elegance

Having a wet room has been considered to be a luxury by many for years. To reflect this idea, implement accessories and interior features that you’d consider luxurious. This can be anything from realistic marble effect tiles to a set of gold hardware for the bathroom. Bathroom Mountain have a stunning range of gold hardware, including taps and showers. We really love the look they give off! This gold shower works effortlessly with our beautiful Delicatto White Marble Effect Tiles, a gorgeously neutral marble effect tile.

8 – Go Bold With Moody Blacks

If you’re perhaps looking for something a bit more intense and moody, consider black or dark grey tiles. Black or dark grey tiles can be an incredibly contemporary way of injecting a statement into your bathroom, showing you aren’t afraid of being different and daring. We’ve used our Doblo Matt Grey Tiles to achieve this look, pairing them with a beautiful contrasting wood effect vanity.
