Customer Tile Style Profile: Bianca’s Bathroom Overhaul

Our Customer Tile Style Profile feature takes an in-depth look at some of the fantastic renovation and redesign projects our customers complete using products from the Tile Mountain range. This month’s instalment sees us catching up with Bianca of Tiverton, Devon, who used our Apollo Hexagon White wall tiles to freshen up the tired bathroom in her recently purchased first home.

What were the circumstances behind the project?

We purchased our first home last year and the bathroom desperately needed updating – it was dark and dated, hence why we chose the lovely bright white modern hexagon tiles to modernise it and brighten the room.

Was your choice of decor & colour scheme influenced by the tiles you chose, or did you pick the tiles to fit in with a style you’d chosen for the rest of the room?

We didn’t have a particular theme for this room, but we have four boys and so we wanted something bright, neutral, and eye catching. The Apollo Hexagon White wall tiles along with the black grout ticked all of those boxes and made everything flow together nicely!

What made you decide that the tiles you chose were the right tiles for your project?

We chose these tiles because we felt they fulfilled all the criteria mentioned above – they we’re right up our street and everything we we’re looking for.

How long did the project take to complete and did you do the tiling yourself or hire a professional tiler?

The project took us roughly a week as we had to take down old tiles (which were actually tiled on top of tiles) so we had what felt like an arduous task on our hands. When it came to the actual tiling we did it ourselves (well, my partner did – I’m not that talented!).

What part of the project was most difficult and why?

Trying to make sure the tiles lined up and fit perfectly took a little bit of time and proved tricky at times, especially if there was a slight dip in the wall.

Do you have any further decorating projects lined up?

Since we moved in last November we’ve been gradually going through the house room by room and renovating. Now the bathroom is finished we are now moving onto our son’s bedroom for the next job!

What advice would you give to people considering undertaking a similar project?

Take your time and don’t cut corners! And  remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day – if you want a perfect finish it will take time.

What would you say to people who are thinking about buying tiles from Tile Mountain?

We would 100% recommend Tile Mountain, dealing with the company been a real pleasure –  amazing service,  quick delivery and great quality products. We also bought our hallway tiles from Tile Mountain prior to tackling the bathroom and we have had endless positive comments and feedback on them! We are over the moon with all our tiles, so thank you!
